Basically this little bunch here is just some typical drippy colorful fun watercolors and acrylics. I also tried my hand at another painting on wood...and am throroughly convinced that I am incapable of creating a "normal" looking girl. They keep coming out creepy and corpselike. Oh well. A reflection of my innermost self, perhaps? ^_~

oh, and bri & i are most likely going to get that apartment we looked at today. it's not much more than we're paying now, and it's in better condition. the only real pitfall is...:dun dun dunnnn:...it's in woonsocket. ugh. my commute to work/school just grew a whooooooole heck of a lot. so much for being walking distance from RIC. :(
and speaking of school, i have a whole host of issues to deal with next semester that i need to sort out ASAP. but long story short, they're trying to screw me on my financial aid. oyyyy vey. :(
and in case anyoe was wondering, knocked up was actually really funny. you should probably go see it if you were considering it. :)

i created a couple of new things today/tonight, as well as started some other new projects, and i'm very happy with the way things are turning out. i found myself very short on supplies [i.e. i only had ONE blank sheet of watercolor paper left. haha] so i ended up skimming through old sketchbooks and whatnot to see what i could work with or otherwise recycle. so those, along with some magazine clippings, were reworked into brand new creations.
so anyway, like i mentioned, i only had one sheet of watercolor paper left. but why waste the cardboard backs of the watercolor pads?! heh. i also found a bunch of acrylics, most of which i haven't used in ages, so i went ahead and gave them a go. the first pic is just acrylics on cardboard, the second is cardboard and a good ol' fashioned sharpie. i have a tendency to doodle very similar images in my notebooks in class. i expect this one to acquire much, much more detail within the next few days.
i found a clipping of andy warhol's marilyn monroe, so i cut it out and glued it to an old project that i had started and then retired before it was finished [see very last pic in the left row]. i painted over the clipping to make the color pop a little bit more. the oil-pastel flower isn't glued on yet; i'm not sticking it on until...well, until i know where i want to stick it. hehe.
the other picture [marilyn's lips] was freehanded in acrylic & watercolor on half of a watercolor postcard [...i really wasn't kidding when i said i was hurtin for supplies! heh] & i threw in the pic of me holding it as a size reference.
i think i'm going to see how long i can go without buying more paper. :)
alright, this night owl definitely needs to hit the hay. but before i go, and on a completely unrelated note, i haven't watched any good movies lately [well, aside from in the land of women; if you haven't seen it yet i suggest you do!]; anywho, help a sista out:

1. i am trying one of those detoxify-your-body diets. let's see if it works. basically it consists of a lot of green tea and organic juice/broth [it's a week-long liquid diet]. so far i haven't felt hungry yet...although, 'tis only day two. ;) we'll see how this pans out. heh.
2. i really want to check one of those dream websites to check out the significance of certain images that have been showing up in a lot of my paintings. i figure since dreams are subliminal messages, maybe creative endeavors have some sort of unintended subliminal message as well [obviously they all have a level of personal meaning, but i'm curious as to what's beyond even that].
3. i registered for three classes in the fall; i still need to find another one to enroll in to make full-time status, but i don't know what to pick! i was interested in taking an asian philosophy class, but it was already full. :( and i can't take any of the fun art classes because i haven't taken the prereqs yet. SOOOOO that leaves me with....english? i already took the zen class. meh. i just want to take something fun and interesting to break up the monotony of all my psych classes. i wish yoga was a class!
4. it is laundry day, which means i must journey back and forth to the landromat all day. le sigh. i don't feel like going to hell tonight. i do, however, feel like going to the pzc tonight at six for the meditation class. zen = good times.
5. i'm thinking about buying a bicycle. gas is getting way too pricey lately. plus, it's getting nicer out seeing as spring has, well, sprung...so it'd be nice to get a little exercise while enjoying the sunny weather.

i will start by saying that my roommate introduced me to this fabulous thirft-type store yesterday, called the hope chest. $100 later, i am now the proud owner of dolce & gabbana sunglasses, a louis vuitton scarf [which at the moment is doubling as a curtain, considering how giant it is], a black prada bag, and a beat-up vintage gucci bag which i absolutely adore. nikkie bought a cute charm bracelet and a louis bag. this store is seriously a godsend. haha.
i spent the past few nights creating some new things, which is always fun. i also painted a wine bottle, which i didn't photograph. but considering how many wine bottles i go through, i figured why not try to reuse at least some of them? heh. i'll probably buy some fake flowers for it and leave it somewhere in the apartment. :) also, i painted another picture of olivia, only this one's entirely black & white. i'll have to remember to take a picture of that one for next time.
other than that, life's been pretty...average. i was stuck in a funk earlier this week but it seems as though i've come out alive. which is always a good thing. :) i guess with all the stress of school piling up, not to mention the neverending stress at work and then various other issues that come and go, it's enough to drive anyone a little mad. it just seems like everyone else is better than me at managing it. ehhhh.
speaking of school, i have to go study for the chemical dependency test that i have to take in less than three hours. fun fun.

crazy weather we've been having this week, eh? just a few days ago it was 60 degrees and cloudless, now today it's practically blizzarding out. sheesh.
i'm waiting for my brother to call me so i can pick him up [attempt to pick him up?] from work, but in the meantime i'll post some more fun stuff i've worked on lately:
anyways.....bri's boyfriend [bill] came over last night and brought some wine. so i made some more drunkart. actually this was more buzzedart, seeing as i wasn't nearly as loopy as i was the other night. hah. onto pictures:

so instead of doing the usual and going to hell last night, nikkie and i decided that we were going to have an all-out girls night [complete with pizza, the simple life, and of course, wine].
it was somewhere between the second and third bottle of wine that the concept of DRUNKART was born. we grabbed my watercolors, some paper, markers, post-its, etc...and went crazy. it was so much fun. even bri joined in when she got home!
our results:

and i definitely have to give mad inspirational cred to maejane. she paints amazing pictures of her kitty all the time so i wanted to see if i could do something in that fun abstract style. so i painted my ferret [whose name happens to be olivia mae alize, coincidentally enough. lol] anyways, i think they came out alright.
blah i really should go do my hair now. nikkie's waiting for me to come over so we can go to the barrrrr O_o

in other news, i dyed my hair today. the blonde roots were getting a tad out of control so i had to go back to brunette. :) this week is spring break. i don't have work today, or tomorrow, OR the day after that, so i just plan on being a lazy bum. so far so good. i am currently munching on some peanut butter ice cream but once it's gone and i'm finished with this little blurb, i plan on relocating to the living room where i'll blast some tunes and get my paint on. i love days like these. ahhhh,
